Like the egg but don't like the fried or boiled? Why not try our Chinese style microwave egg dishes.
Egg is a healthy and good resource of protein. Frying and boiling are the common ways to cook eggs. But having too much fried food is not good for your health, and the boiled ones sometimes are just too boring :)
Here are two quick and easy ways that we normally used in our home, just use the microwave oven to cook eggs, then seasoned by common Chinese ingredients such as soy sauce, black beans and spring onions. Simple, healthy and tasty.
In this post, I have two types of microwave cooked egg, one is egg curd, another is similar to the poached egg.
In China we like to have steamed egg curd, some restaurants also have this steamed egg in the menu.
In our home, instead of using steamer, we can use microwave to make egg curd becuase it is easy and quick to make. The ingredients are similar to we used for steamed egg curd.
This can be served as a side dish. Because it is tender and tasty, it is a perfect small meal for toddler to have in the late afternoon. It can be good for older people or patients who have difficulty in chewing too. You may remove the chopped spring onions if prefer.
The second dish is the microwave poached egg. Lots people have done this. But for Chinese style, instead of adding salt and peppers, we add the sesame oil and light soy sauce.
